An integral part of our Maori culture and heritage. Waka are vital to Maori history and our connections to Iwi (tribes) in Aotearoa New Zealand.
This Waka Taua (war canoe) in particular was made and designed so that our tamariki have access to this essential resource at such an important time in their educational voyage.
As a wood kitset you can build this yourself! Here below is a video of my son and I taking you through the steps :) Alternatively we can construct it for you and send over for an extra 10 bucks it's up to you.
Commissioned by Papamoa kindergarten as a resource as a set alongside the Traditional Peg Dolls & Wharenui we made for them.
They wanted more Maoritanga resources for their kids to play and learn with. Since then other ECE and kohanga have 'hopped on board' (pun intended) with enquires and orders, so we have decided to open this up to all.
This piece can be painted by your students or kept as is with the recycled wood mdf finish.
Dimensions are 42cm x 8cm x 14.5cm
